Mt Kinabalu and Poring Springs
The next morning we set off in a mini bus with our guide for the Mt Kinabalu NP and this is a pretty impressive mountain being the highest in SE Asia at 4095m and it gets better as you get closer as long as it’s a clear day which we had! Yeah, the fine weather is following me again!!!just like in Central and South America last year. Mt Kinabalu is an extinct volcano and is said to be ‘an easy climb’ but our guide who has been up there 5 times reckons its tough enough. It was a bit frustrating for Liz being so close but unable to climb it---Bloody triathletes!! Haha!
The Poring Springs were a bit of a disappointment. It was a holiday and it was chockers with locals who weren’t about to give up any of the little baths for two and the only big pools were dirty and cold. So we had a game of stand up water polo with some kids and got out of there.
