SE ASIA JUNE-JULY 2011

GOLD COAST TO KAULA LUMPUR

After dad’s 90th birthday on Stradbroke Island on the 27th and 28th of May we returned to the Gold Coast and flew to Kaula Lumpur and found some good weather and a 5 star hotel undergoing a needed refurb. The Dorsett Grand at Subang is not a good option because you need to do a lot of train or taxi to see the city from there. We spent a bit of time chasing a pair of good sandals for me to wear during the trip and eventually found  a pair of Keens for $90. Some nice parks, the Petronis Towers and a cemetery by mistake followed, then back to the hotel pool. to recover from the heat. We went back on the commuter train for the experience but it wasn’t fun so I would definitely stay in the centre of the city in future because all the connection options from KLCC are aimed there and you can visit all the sights from your hotel or the very good metro or monorail gets you round easily. We only stayed 2 nights and then we were off to Borneo.
