Its in capitals for a reason and we got there at five pm just in time for the rush hour and after a 500 km run from Prague. This is such a pretty place so even after such a long day getting here we got stuck in to experiencing it after we scored a free carpark near the Stone Bridge on the other side. Perfect evening with sunshine backlighting that stunning view over the bridge and old town and up to the castle. So over the stone bridge and into the old town with the pretty squares and church and Rathaus. The lady in the funicular rail office said the castle was closed so we decided to walk up to the gardens to walk around but we found open gates everywhere except the rooms . So could wander around the courtyards and the balconies with their stunning views over the town and river. We were pretty shattered after all this so Liz cooked tea and we slept where we were parked and left early the next morning. We were keen to get to Paris and it was another 500 kms west
