Part of the MELLS and WELLS show. A day of great surprises when I wasn't expecting much. Mells is a small village in Somerset near Frome where one of LIz's aunts did such great work as the district nurse that she was awarded an MBE by the Queen !!! So by accident we drove into the property next door to the church and met the Duchess of Oxford Lady Clare Asquith who made sure the church was opened up for us and told us where the Nurses Cottage was. Aunt Sadie was granted the use of the cottage till she died in 1983 and has been buried in the church grounds and has a commemorative plaque on the wall of the church
