Surf Snowdonia 1

A few more piccies from the day. Believe us one hour of waves every 90 secs takes it out of you !!! We were buggared after our sessions. Its tricky at first to figure

Anglesey Island Top Cnr of Wales

Holyhead from Dublin took 2 hours but cost 260 euros for the van and us. Wanted to get a sim card for my phone so Liz and I could find each other which may have been handy yesterday at the golf. So this turned out bad cause back in Australia an enthusiastic youngster at Woolies at Cabba said no problem cutting down a micro sim to a nano sim size when they didn't have any nano sim for amazysim. And it worked ok BUT when you try to get it out and replace with a local sim when travelling it wouldn't !! Well the guys at Tesco tried and then sent me to a computer shop and not sure who broke the screen trying to get that sim out but now I have a local nano sim bogeyed in with a bit of packing so it makes proper contact and lost warranty on the waterproofing of a very nice Sony M4 Aqua with a dodgy screen. Bugger !!
So we left it at the computer shop and had a very nice tour around Anglesey looking for waves. Supposed to get some at Rhosneigr south of Holyhead but it was only a foot but you could see its possibility and a nice free camp along the coast where Liz was able to have a good run the next morning

Last day of the Irish Open won by Rory McIroy

Finally Rory won his national open which is a very big deal for him. We had a rain and hail delay for 2 hours after they had played 9 holes. Russell Knox from Scotland birdied the 14th and 15th to take a 1 shot lead and playing in the last group it was on then. Rory hit a huge drive on 16 and was able to get onto the "island " green in 2 shots. Rattled by that Knox 3 putted and Rory led by 1 and then on the final hole he nailed another big drive and 3 wood  to within 2 ft of the hole for an easy eagle to seal the deal. Fabulous finish to be there to see it was amazing !!!!

The Mountains of Mourne

some really impressive stone fencing in the foothills and then the water storage Silent Valley with lots of nice walks

Newcastle NIR

Home of Royal County Down Golf Club and the closest we have seen to a rideable wave on the east coast since last year

The Reception

Held at the historic Mill at Ballydugin. Started at the ground floor for the warm up and worked our way up. Ist flr for the speeches and dinner and the 2nd flr for dancing and supper. It was a bit quieter than what I was expecting but most of the guests were church orientated. Richard who was the best man and brother of the groom gave a great speech including a funny mandolin story about his brother and new sister in law and him growing up.
