Surf is possible here BUT not for us. After I walked half way around the place I found the Tourist Office at the end of the Grand Plage and the surf was tiny -- and I was only 500m from the van as the crow flies BUT not this Crow--I'd walked a couple of km around the port and back again-haha!!
Anyway the maps from the TO showed some beaches to the north and we found Sauveterre where there was supposed to be a place for le camping cars back from the beach a couple of kms. Well we found lots of spaces but they all had 2m height bars on them!!!! But then this sly one saw a place where a previous van had taken out a bollard--So we were in!! In the morning Liz had a run and the proper beach here was a long walk in and had a 2 ft wave on offer but the thought of having to walk back the van and walk back in again for such a small wave wasn't a goer
